  3. Stir until the mixture forms a ball.
  4. Leave to cool on wax paper.

Recipe: Express Christmas Trifle with Red Fruits

Here's a "cheat" (no-bake!) recipe perfect for the holiday season.

It’s colorful (red and white), delicious and takes just 15 minutes to prepare.

Ingredients (for 4 to 6 containers, depending on size):

  • The cake base: 1 small pound cake OR a packet of ladyfingers, cut into small cubes or chunks.
  • The fruity touch: 2 cups of fresh (cut strawberries, raspberries) or thawed red fruit.

Optional: Mix with 1 tbsp sugar and a squeeze of lemon juice 15 min beforehand to make a little juice.

The smooth cream:

  • 250 ml (1 cup) chilled 35% whipping cream.
  • 125 g (1/2 cup) mascarpone cheese (the secret to a cream that stays fresh in the fridge!).
  • 3-4 tbsp powdered sugar.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract.

The idea: We use off-the-shelf ingredients to save time and assemble everything beautifully in Deli 8 oz or 12 oz containers.

Preparation:

The cream: In a chilled bowl, whip the mascarpone, cream, powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff and creamy.

Assembly (the fun part!): In your clear Deli containers, alternate layers:

A layer of cake cubes on the bottom.

A layer of red fruits (with a little of their juice to soak the cake).

A generous layer of whipped cream.

Repeat to the top of the container.
